WWIN Orlando Showcase Successfully Wraps

Provides a safe evironment for the fashion community to do business face-to-face
Trumbull, CT (March 2, 2021) – Clarion Events, organizer of Womenswear in Nevada (WWIN) successfully wraps the first in-person fashion week event, WWIN Orlando Showcase, as part of a Stronger Together collaborative initiative joining MAGIC Pop Up Orlando and OFFPRICE Orlando Market under one roof. With health and safety as the priority, the three events aligned to safely host thousands of fashion buyers and vendors from February 9-11, 2021 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
“It’s been one year since we were together in person with our customers and it felt incredible to see the signs of business getting back on its feet. Each of the three events have different personalities and bring unique offerings to our audiences. It was special that we were able to unite on location, communications, as well as consistent health and safety measures,” states Desiree Hanson, Executive Vice President, Clarion Events - Energy North America, Fashion, and Airports. “Face-to-face is what the fashion industry needs and in-person connections are the cornerstone of so many relationships. We are thrilled we could collectively provide a safe environment to do business in person for both our loyal customers, as well as many new buyers who were introduced to WWIN in this east coast installment.”
The health and safety measures taken by the co-located events were organized in partnership with state government and Orlando Health, and guided in accordance with the CDC-approved exhibitions-industry All Secure Standard. All those participating in the events, as attendees, vendors, contractors and staff complied with the measures which included: mandatory face masks at all times, daily temperature checks prior to entering show floor, physical distancing requirements as directed by local health authority and government guidance both on the show floor and in public spaces in addition to continuous sanitization and deep cleaning measures, with an increased focus on high-touch areas.
As an additional layer of safety, a negative COVID test result was required to enter show floor. Participants had the option to test prior to arrival or take a free, rapid response test on-site. The event organizers worked with US Mobile Health, a CLIA-certified mobile testing partner, and Abbott Labs, one of the most highly regarded COVID testing companies in the world, to procure and administer tests.
“WWIN was a good show for us because we were able to put our brand in front of a completely new market. We received many orders from new buyers, resulting in a lot of new business for us!” Erick Castaneda, Exhibitor, T Party
“The WWIN Show in Orlando was such a pleasure to attend. In addition to the show floor, I enjoyed the ease of pre-registration, check in, and access to a VIP lounge. My sincerest thank you to the WWIN team for pivoting and pursuing a venue that was open and welcoming to our group.” Faye Doppelheuer, Buyer, Babe’s Shoes & Apparel, Lakeland, Florida.
“This was my first time attending WWIN. After many months of only buying online, it was so refreshing to be able to see and touch the fabrics in person. The mandatory COVID testing gave me peace of mind that this was a safe event.” Shared Lisa Feniola, Buyer
Shop Polished, Branford, Connecticut, “I found new vendors that I wouldn’t have bought from if it wasn’t for this event, and several more that I look forward to seeing again in August!”
In addition to opportunities to once again touch and feel fabrics – understanding quality, fit and movement – while building relationships in person, a live educational session “Talking Shopping - Retail and Style Trends in 2021” presented by communications consultant, Jen Cullen Williams featured a presentation on retail and design trends for retail buyers and exhibiting brands. “The presentation was tailored for the WWIN community, based in part on the retailers and designers I consulted with and discoveries from the show floor,” says Jen Cullen Williams.
Plans for WWIN’s summer buying experience in Las Vegas are underway. Please stay tuned for event details.
